Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele is confident that her latest movie, ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’, will shatter box office records by grossing N5 billion when it hits cinemas this December.
In a viral video featuring some of the movie’s cast, Akindele expressed her optimism, stating, “We are making N5 billion this year.”
If ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’ achieves this projected figure, it will surpass the record set by Akindele’s previous film, ‘A Tribe Called Judah’, which became the first Nigerian movie to earn one billion naira.
The movie premiered on Sunday night in Lagos, attracting various celebrities, including Akindele’s estranged friend, Eniola Badmus.
