France Shocked By Needle-Stabbing Incidents At Nationwide Music Festival.

French authorities have reported a disturbing series of attacks at the annual Fête de la Musique, a nationwide music festival held on Saturday, with 145 people across the country, including 13 in Paris, claiming they were stabbed with needles. The incidents, which have sparked widespread concern, led to the arrest of 12 individuals in connection with the assaults, officials confirmed on Sunday.

The Fête de la Musique, a beloved celebration of music held on the summer solstice, attracts thousands to public spaces for free concerts and performances. However, this year’s festivities were marred by reports of festival-goers being pricked with needles, often without immediate symptoms. Authorities are investigating whether the attacks involved the use of drugs or other substances, though no conclusive evidence has yet been released.

In Paris, where 13 victims reported incidents, police have increased patrols and are reviewing CCTV footage to identify suspects. The 145 cases were spread across multiple cities, with local authorities in Lyon, Marseille, and Bordeaux also reporting similar attacks. French officials have urged victims to seek medical attention and report incidents promptly to aid the investigation.

The motive behind the stabbings remains unclear. Posts on X have speculated about possible links to organised crime or targeted attacks, but no official statement has confirmed these theories. One user posted, “This is terrifying—why would anyone do this at a music festival?” while another called for heightened security at public events.

The 12 arrests were made in various cities, with suspects detained for questioning. French Interior Minister [Name, if available] described the incidents as “deeply troubling” and vowed a thorough investigation. “We are working tirelessly to understand the nature of these attacks and ensure justice is served,” the minister said in a statement.

Health officials have advised those affected to undergo blood tests to rule out the transmission of infections or exposure to unknown substances. No serious injuries have been reported, but the psychological impact on victims has been significant, with many expressing fear and confusion.

The incidents have cast a shadow over what is typically a joyous national event. As investigations continue, authorities are calling for vigilance at public gatherings and have promised updates as more information becomes available.
