A forum comprising former national chairmen of the Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD), declared on Friday that there are no intentions among tanker drivers to separate from the overarching union.
The statement was made by John Ossai, a member of the forum, during their visit to Mr. Augustine Egbon, the current national chairman of PTD, at the NUPENG National Secretariat in Abuja.
Ossai expressed pride in the recently conducted election organized by their mother union, NUPENG, which resulted in the emergence of the new leadership. He urged all branch units of PTD across the nation to pledge their allegiance to the newly elected leadership.
Asserting the inseparable bond between NUPENG and PTD, Ossai stated, “NUPENG and PTD are one; today, the union is more refined. PTD won’t break away from NUPENG for any reason.” He further appealed to all members to uphold the law and remain loyal to their national chairman and NUPENG, emphasizing the unity that has long defined their association. “That is the flag we have been flying,” Ossai concluded.
