Former Kano State Governor and APC Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has presented a comprehensive blueprint for a school feeding program, as revealed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during a meeting with APC governors in Abuja on Friday.
President Tinubu announced that Governor Ganduje’s proposal would be circulated among the governors for their input before final adoption and implementation. The primary objective of this initiative is to leverage the school feeding program to encourage more children to enroll in schools.
Addressing the economic implications of the program, Tinubu highlighted its potential to stimulate investments in agriculture, specifically in the areas of livestock farming and dairy production.
President Tinubu urged the governors to collaborate on formulating a robust framework that ensures the successful execution of the program across all states in the federation.
He emphasized the need to consider the unique characteristics of each locality in the implementation process.
Expressing his commitment to the initiative, President Tinubu called for a collective effort to promote education by involving all governors, regardless of political affiliation, in the school feeding program.
He stressed the importance of not viewing the children merely as statistics but measuring success by their return to classrooms and gauging economic growth in terms of value and empowerment.
In further support of the cause, President Tinubu proposed the establishment of a committee to scrutinize the methodologies involved.
He declared his readiness to invest in the school feeding program, underscoring the significance of prioritizing the education and well-being of school-age children.
