The Accountant General of the Federation has announced that federal workers can expect to receive their January salaries from Thursday evening, addressing a delay caused by a glitch in the Government Integrated Financial Management System (GIFMIS) platform.
Bawa Mokwa, the Director of Press and Public Relations at the Office of the Accountant General, assured that the issue has been successfully rectified, paving the way for the commencement of salary payments today.
The glitch in the GIFMIS platform was identified as the root cause of the delay, impacting the timely processing of payroll for federal employees. However, Mokwa emphasized that the necessary steps have been taken to ensure that workers receive their rightful payments without further hindrance.
“We have sorted out the issue and workers will start receiving their payment from this Thursday evening,” stated Bawa Mokwa.
