The Federal Government has issued a strong commitment to apprehending those responsible for the Christmas Eve killings in Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi Local Government Areas of Plateau State.
The Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, delivered this assurance in a statement released on Thursday.
Expressing solidarity with the people of Plateau State, Senator Gaidam stated, ‘The loss of innocent lives is a tragedy that touches us all, and we stand united with the people of Plateau State during this difficult time.
In line with the directives of Mr. President, we will leave no stone unturned in apprehending both the collaborators and prime suspects involved in this crime against humanity. Our collective resolve is to ensure that those responsible face the full force of the law.’
The minister extended prayers for the swift recovery of injured citizens and security personnel who bravely worked to secure the affected villages. Emphasizing the importance of unity and cooperation, he urged citizens to assist in providing vital information that could lead to the arrest of the criminals still at large.
Recognizing the severity of security challenges in Plateau State and across the nation, Senator Gaidam assured continuous collaboration with other stakeholders to address these issues.
Despite the tragic incident, the Federal Government remains steadfast in its commitment to ongoing police reforms, aiming to enhance professionalism and the delivery of top-notch service to the Nigerian people.
The minister emphasized that such incidents would not deter the government from its mission.”
