The federal government has expressed its readiness to engage in effective collaboration with relevant stakeholders to tackle the root causes of multidimensional poverty and other socio-economic challenges across the nation.
Vice President Kashim Shettima conveyed this commitment on Tuesday in Abuja during the 2024 National Savings Group Conference. The event, themed “Accelerating Financial and Economic Inclusion: The Pivotal Role of Savings Groups in Nigeria,” was organised by prominent organisations such as Care International, Plan International, Oxfam, Christian Aid, Action Aid Nigeria, Mercy Corps, Catholic Relief Services, and the World Bank.
Represented by Dr. Nurudeen Abubakar-Zauro, the Technical Advisor to the President on Financial Inclusion, Shettima highlighted that comprehensive plans have been finalized to engage with both local and international stakeholders in pursuit of inclusion. The aim is to leverage their expertise and experiences to enable Nigeria to align with global best practices in this domain.
