Erik ten Hag Dismisses Jamie Redknapp’s Claims Regarding Marcus Rashford’s Exclusion.
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has firmly rejected speculation made by pundit Jamie Redknapp, suggesting that Marcus Rashford was dropped from the starting XI due to off-field issues. Redknapp had implied that “something happened,” leading to Rashford’s omission.
Ten Hag, clearly unimpressed by the rumour, addressed the matter head-on, stating, “Yes, I have already heard this speculation from some pundits. That’s crazy! I’d say, as a person, you’re not okay when you bring such speculation out of nowhere.”
The Dutchman went on to clarify that Rashford’s absence from the starting lineup was purely a matter of squad rotation, not performance or personal issues. “This is just rotation. This has nothing to do with Rashy, as I am very happy with Marcus in every aspect — his defending, his offensive part, and he’s also scoring now.”
Ten Hag praised Rashford’s recent form and reiterated his satisfaction with the player’s contributions. “He performs very well… so nothing to do with Rashy being benched today, it’s just rotation.”
The manager’s comments leave no doubt that Rashford remains a key figure in United’s plans, with his recent performances earning high praise.
