Equatorial Guinea Financial Director Embroiled in Scandal over Secret Recordings

The director general of Equatorial Guinea Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF) Baltasar Engonga has been caught in a scandal involving more than 400 intimate recordings, allegedly featuring women connected to various dignitaries.

The tapes, which reportedly reveal encounters without protective measures, have sparked concerns about privacy, exploitation, and health risks.

The Attorney General has announced that the individual involved will undergo testing for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) to assess any potential health implications. Local media, including Ahora EG, have reported the scandal with growing public and political scrutiny, as the identities of individuals involved raise questions about security and personal conduct among prominent figures.

Baltasar Ebang Edjo’o, the Director General of Equatorial Guinea’s National Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF), has become embroiled in a significant scandal involving nearly 400 explicit videos. Allegedly recorded in various locations, including his office, bathroom, and even a beach, these videos feature Ebang Edjo’o with multiple women, some of whom are reported to be connected to high-profile figures in the country.

One of the individuals purportedly involved is the wife of Jesús Edu Moto, a member of the presidential security team. Reports suggest that Ebang Edjo’o had carefully stored these recordings in his home, where they were kept like trophies.

The revelations have stirred a wave of public and political concern, with questions arising about potential abuse of office and the ethical responsibilities expected of high-ranking officials. Further investigations are anticipated as authorities address the potential ramifications of the scandal, both for Ebang Edjo’o personally and for his position within ANIF.

This case continues to unfold, drawing attention not only to the actions of the accused but also to the broader implications for personal and public responsibility among high-profile individuals in the country.
