Enugu Police Commissioner and State Officials Visit Family of Murdered Musician, Pledge Swift Justice.
The Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, alongside senior state government officials, visited the family of the late Chikezie Okezie Nwamba, a renowned Ogene musician popularly known as Igbo-Jah. The artist was tragically killed by a police officer on Friday night, an incident that has sent shockwaves through the Enugu community.
During the visit, CP Uzuegbu reassured the grieving family and the public that a thorough investigation is underway and pledged that justice would be served swiftly. He emphasised the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to upholding discipline, noting that officers who break the law face severe consequences.
CP Uzuegbu extended his condolences to the family, friends, and fans of the late musician, encouraging the public to trust in the police process as they pursue accountability in this case.
According to Enugu Police Command spokesperson DSP Daniel Ndukwe, the officer responsible, identified as Inspector Ozonwanji Joseph, is now in custody and will face prosecution upon the completion of the investigation.
