Debbie Nelson, the mother of American rapper Eminem, has passed away at the age of 69 after a long battle with lung cancer.
Eminem’s spokesperson confirmed Nelson’s demise on Tuesday, stating that she died on Monday night in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Nelson’s relationship with Eminem was publicly tumultuous, with the rapper frequently referencing their rocky past in his song lyrics.
She filed a $10 million lawsuit against Eminem for defamation and emotional distress but later settled out of court.
In 2008, Nelson published a memoir, “My Son Marshall, My Son Eminem,” to set the record straight about her life as Eminem’s mother.
