Real Madrid’s stay in Naples suffered a shock on Monday night after the Italian city suffered an earthquake that affected the Campi Flegrei area, a volcanic caldera 9 kilometers from the city, which even caused several people to take to the streets alerted by a tremor in the ground.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men were fortunately staying at a hotel located in downtown Naples, away from the most affected area.
The earthquake was felt in several neighborhoods of Naples at 10.10 p.m.: with magnitude 4 and a depth of 2.61 kilometers. Tt is the second strongest in the last 40 years after that of last September 27, which reached 4.2.
The tremor has reached Naples and also Salerno, which is 50 kilometers south of the town where Real Madrid will play on Tuesday.
The Vesuviano observatory recorded eight more earthquakes in the 15 minutes following the first quake.
For the moment, the authorities do not report serious damage to things or people, although, as some ‘Fanpage’ images show, the area of Agnano had falling debris.
