Nigerian singer David Adeleke, aka Davido, has shared the valuable lesson his father taught him about having faith in God.
In a recent podcast interview with Rollingout, Davido spoke about his upbringing in a Christian home and the impact of his father’s religious lessons on his life.
Davido credited his father’s teachings for helping him overcome difficult times. “My dad is very successful, but he’s an elder in the church. I grew up as a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. I attended a Christian college,” he said.
The singer recalled a conversation with his father about questioning God. “I was like, ‘What do you mean you can’t question God?’ And then a year later [after the death of my son, Ifeanyi], we had twins, the biggest album of my career came, and my first Grammy nominations came. Then it started to make sense,” he explained.
Davido concluded by saying that his father’s lesson has helped him understand that God has his back, even in challenging times. “People go through different challenges, but just know that God has your back,” he said.
