Dangote Refinery To Launch Nationwide Fuel Distribution With Free Logistics From August 15

Dangote Refinery To Launch Nationwide Fuel Distribution With Free Logistics From August 15.

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced the commencement of nationwide distribution of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, and diesel starting 15 August 2025. The initiative, backed by the deployment of 4,000 brand-new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered tankers, aims to enhance fuel availability and affordability across the country at no additional logistics cost to buyers.

According to a statement released by the refinery on Sunday, 15 June 2025, this ambitious programme will supply fuel directly to petrol stations, marketers, manufacturers, telecommunications firms, aviation operators, and other large-scale consumers. The initiative is designed to eliminate transportation costs, reduce fuel prices, and stimulate economic growth by supporting key industries. The refinery has also invested in CNG booster stations and over 100 additional CNG tankers to ensure seamless last-mile delivery, particularly to rural and underserved communities.

The programme aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the Federal Government’s Naira-for-Crude policy, which has helped stabilise fuel supply amidst global price volatility. “This strategic initiative is part of our broader commitment to eliminating logistics costs, enhancing energy efficiency, promoting sustainability, and supporting Nigeria’s economic development,” the refinery stated.

To further support bulk buyers, Dangote Refinery is offering a credit facility for customers purchasing a minimum of 500,000 litres, allowing them to access an additional 500,000 litres on credit for two weeks, backed by a bank guarantee. Registration and Know Your Customer (KYC) verification for the programme will run from 16 June to 15 August 2025.

The initiative is expected to revitalise dormant petrol stations, create jobs, boost small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and increase government revenue. By reducing fuel costs, it will also lower production expenses for industries such as manufacturing and telecommunications, potentially curbing inflation and fostering economic growth.

Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group, has hinted at a “major shakedown” in Nigeria’s oil industry, signaling significant changes to come. The refinery, located in the Lekki Free Zone near Lagos and capable of processing 650,000 barrels of crude oil per day, is Africa’s largest and the world’s biggest single-train facility. This move marks a significant step towards energy self-sufficiency for Nigeria, a nation historically reliant on imported fuel despite its vast oil reserves.

“Dangote Petroleum Refinery remains a proud partner in this national journey—a truly Nigerian company of global standards, dedicated to the well-being of all Nigerians,” the statement concluded. Stakeholders are invited to contact the refinery for enquiries via email (sales.enquiry@dangote.com).

This initiative promises to enhance fuel access, promote sustainability, and drive inclusive economic progress, positioning Dangote Refinery as a key player in Nigeria’s energy future.
