Cristiano Ronaldo sent off for Al-Nassr in Saudi Super Cup defeat to Al-Hilal
Cristiano Ronaldo received a red card while playing for Al-Nassr in their Saudi Super Cup semi-final against Al-Hilal, resulting in a 2-1 defeat for his team.
The incident occurred in the 86th minute when Ronaldo, who had already been booked earlier in the game, elbowed opponent Ali Al Bulayhi twice in the chest, leading to his immediate dismissal from the match.
Following the red card, Ronaldo appeared to gesture towards the referee before leaving the field. This marks his first red card since joining Al-Nassr in December 2022.
Despite Sadio Mane scoring a late goal for Al-Nassr, goals from Salem Al-Dawsari and Malcom had already given Al-Hilal a 2-0 lead.
Al-Hilal, three-time winners of the tournament, will face Al-Ittihad in the final after Al-Ittihad’s 2-1 victory over Al-Wehda in the other semi-final, with goals from Karim Benzema and Abderrazak Hamdallah.
