According to reports on Saturday, a representative for China’s Ministry of Defence Stated that Beijing is “ready to intervene” if the United States or North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) decides to launch an attack on Russia.
The statement, which surfaced on Saturday through the Telegram channel WW3.INFO Battlefield Research, stated China’s willingness to enter the fray should circumstances demand. The statement was made following Sweden’s recent official admission into NATO, which has had a major impact on the geopolitical environment, particularly in relation to Russia.
The ongoing friction between NATO and the Kremlin has intensified in recent months, with Russian President Vladimir Putin issuing stern warnings to the West. Putin’s cautionary stance was reiterated earlier this week when he stated Moscow’s readiness for nuclear conflict, stating that any deployment of US troops to Ukraine would be viewed as an escalation.
“From a military-technical point of view, we are, of course, ready,” Putin stated, while also indicating that he doesn’t currently perceive a necessity for such actions.
