Chelsea midfielder Roméo Lavia is set to sit out the remainder of the season due to a setback in his recovery process.
This news was confirmed by Chelsea on Wednesday, followed by Lavia’s statement on social media.
In his statement, Lavia expressed his disappointment at missing the rest of the season despite his efforts. He mentioned his love for the team, the club badge, and his passion for being on the pitch, emphasizing his dedication to returning to action.
Acknowledging the challenges he faced this season, Lavia thanked everyone for their support, including the fans’ love, encouragement, and constructive criticism. He expressed eagerness to return stronger and create memorable moments with the team.
Since joining Chelsea from Southampton last summer, Lavia has played only 32 minutes due to injuries.
He initially suffered an ankle injury that kept him out for the first half of the season and later encountered a hamstring problem in his comeback match against Crystal Palace on December 27.
He has now been ruled out of the season due to complications from his current hamstring injury.
We wish the player a speedy recovery from this end.
