Nigerian singer and activist Charly Boy has courageously opened up about being sexually abused by his nanny at the age of 10.
In a recent podcast episode, Charly Boy revealed that the abuse occurred repeatedly, but due to his young age, he didn’t understand its implications. “I didn’t feel raped at that age; I actually enjoyed it because I didn’t know what was going on…but it felt good.”
However, the experience had lasting effects, leading to hypersexuality and early exposure to brothels. By 12, Charly Boy had contracted gonorrhoea.
Charly Boy’s story highlights the devastating consequences of child sexual abuse and the importance of awareness, support, and protection for vulnerable children.
