Champions League: Arsenal Outshines PSG At The Emirates As Gunners Unbeaten Run Continues

Arteta’s Arsenal Dominate Paris Saint-Germain In UCL Clash.

Arsenal continued their exceptional unbeaten run under Mikel Arteta, making it 15 matches (12 wins, 3 draws) after a commanding 2-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the UEFA Champions League. The Gunners delivered a powerful performance at the Emirates Stadium under the floodlights, leaving PSG with no answers.

The first opportunity of the night fell to Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka, who cut inside from the right and unleashed a curling shot just wide of Gianluigi Donnarumma’s goal. PSG responded swiftly, with Riccardo Calafiori ensuring that Achraf Hakimi couldn’t capitalise on his forward play. However, Arsenal took the lead in the 20th minute, courtesy of a brilliantly executed cross from Leandro Trossard, which found former Chelsea man Kai Havertz, who headed the ball home to make it 1-0.

PSG found themselves pinned back for much of the match. Their best moment came when Nuno Mendes hit the post, but Arsenal’s David Raya thwarted any further danger from the Parisians. The Gunners doubled their lead when Saka, having been fouled by Mendes, delivered an exceptional free-kick which eluded everyone, including Donnarumma, to make it 2-0.

Though Donnarumma made several saves, his efforts couldn’t prevent Arsenal from controlling the first half. Arteta’s side showed a level of discipline and authority that PSG couldn’t match. The memory of Arsenal’s match against Leicester City last weekend where they threw away 2 goals from a leading position earlier in the week served as a reminder not to let up, and this time, Arsenal’s defence held firm.

Gabriel Martinelli nearly added a third, with Donnarumma forced into another sharp save. PSG, up against an unyielding Arsenal defence led by Gabriel, struggled to find any momentum, giving the north Londoners even more reason to celebrate a comprehensive victory in front of their home crowd.
