Super Eagles’ Bright Osayi-Samuel Summoned by Turkish Football Federation.
The Turkish Football Federation made an announcement on Tuesday regarding the call of Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel and two other Fenerbahce players to appear before its disciplinary committee.
This action stems from an incident where Osayi-Samuel and his teammates were involved in a confrontation with Trabzonspor fans who stormed the pitch following Fenerbahce’s 3-2 away victory.
According to Super Sports, Osayi-Samuel and his colleagues could potentially face a substantial ban of up to 10 matches in accordance with the Turkish FA’s rules and regulations.
Meanwhile, Fenerbahce is set to convene an extraordinary board meeting on Wednesday to address the repercussions of the violence witnessed during the game. Speculations suggest that the measures discussed may even include Fenerbahce withdrawing from the league.
Osayi-Samuel recently represented the Super Eagles in international friendly matches against Ghana and Mali. His contributions were pivotal in Nigeria’s journey to the final of the African Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire, where the team secured a second-place finish.
