Nigeria Plunged Into Darkness Again As National Grid Collapses
Nigeria has been hit by another blackout following a fresh collapse of the National Grid on Thursday, 7th November. This latest failure marks the second collapse within just three days, leaving many Nigerians facing prolonged power outages.
The National Orientation Agency (NOA) recently addressed the issue, attributing the frequent grid failures to the inability of electricity distribution companies (Discos) to handle the load of generated power. According to the NOA, while power generation has seen improvements, the distribution network remains inadequate, resulting in frequent collapses. This year alone, the grid has reportedly failed ten times, prompting widespread frustration among citizens and calls for urgent reforms in Nigeria’s power sector.
Further updates are expected as authorities assess the situation and work towards restoring power across the country.
