Wimbledon Draw Announced: Raducanu to Face Alexandrova in First Round.
Emma Raducanu has been drawn against Russian 22nd seed Ekaterina Alexandrova in the first round of Wimbledon. This marks Raducanu’s return to the All England Club after missing last year’s tournament due to injury.
In the men’s draw, Andy Murray will face Czech player Tomas Machac, provided the two-time champion is fit to play. Murray, 37, recently underwent an operation on a back cyst and has stated he will decide at the last minute whether he can compete on Tuesday.
British number one Katie Boulter, who is seeded 32nd, will start her campaign against German veteran Tatjana Maria, a semi-finalist in 2022. Boulter could potentially face fellow Briton Harriet Dart in the second round, with Dart set to play Chinese qualifier Bai Zhuoxuan in her opening match.
British qualifier Sonay Kartal has been rewarded with an opening match against Romanian 29th seed Sorana Cirstea. Heather Watson, who reached the fourth round in 2022, starts her tournament against Dutch player Greet Minnen.
Additionally, Francesca Jones and Lily Miyazaki, both recipients of wildcards, will face Croatia’s Petra Martic and Germany’s Tamara Korpatsch, respectively.
As the excitement builds, British tennis fans eagerly anticipate the performances of their homegrown talent on the world’s most prestigious grass courts.
