Ikeja Electric Distribution Company (IE) has made a significant announcement, revealing a reduction in electricity tariffs for customers falling under Band A. Effective immediately, customers within this category will now pay N206.80/kWh, down from the previous rate of N225/kWh set by the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).
In a circular issued by the company’s management, prominently featured on its “X” page on Monday, IE assured customers under Band A of uninterrupted power supply for 20 to 24 hours daily. However, it’s important to note that tariffs for customers falling under other categories, namely Bands B, C, D, and E, will remain unaffected by this adjustment.
The statement from IE reads, “Dear Esteemed Customers, Please be informed of the downward tariff review of our Band A feeders from N225/kWh to N206.80/kWh effective 6th May 2024 with guaranteed availability of 20-24 hours supply daily. The tariff for Bands B, C, D, and E remains unchanged.”
