The Federal Government increased its proposed national minimum wage to N62,000.
This development follows a significant reduction in the organized labour’s demand, which was lowered from N494,000 to N250,000.
Despite these adjustments, the Tripartite Committee on the New National Minimum Wage has not reached a consensus and has decided to adjourn the meeting.
Interestingly, the organized private sector has expressed agreement with the government’s N62,000 proposal.
