Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced another significant reduction in the prices of diesel and aviation fuel. Effective immediately, diesel will now be sold at N940 per litre, while aviation fuel will be priced at N980 per litre.

This latest price adjustment comes just weeks after the refinery had already reduced prices to N1,000 per litre. The new pricing structure offers even greater relief to consumers, with discounts available for bulk purchases. Customers buying five million litres and above will benefit from the reduced price of N940 per litre, while those purchasing one million litres and above will enjoy a rate of N970 per litre.

Mr. Anthony Chiejina, Head of Communication at Dangote Petroleum Refinery, emphasised the company’s commitment to easing economic challenges in Nigeria. He revealed a strategic partnership with MRS Oil and Gas stations to ensure affordable fuel prices nationwide. Under this collaboration, customers can purchase diesel for as low as N1,050 per litre and aviation fuel at N980 per litre at all major airports where MRS operates.

Chiejina also hinted at extending this partnership to other major oil marketers, ensuring that retail buyers are not subjected to exorbitant prices. He reiterated Dangote Group’s dedication to improving the welfare of Nigerians, expressing hope that these price reductions would help mitigate economic hardships.

This latest adjustment marks the third significant reduction in diesel prices within a short period of time. President Bola Tinubu had previously praised Dangote’s efforts, calling the initial price reduction an “enterprising feat.”

Industry stakeholders have also lauded Dangote Refinery’s initiatives. Mr. Ajayi Kadiri, Director General of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, commended the refinery’s ability to positively impact the national economy. He highlighted the ripple effects of the price reduction, noting its potential to lower energy costs across various sectors and contribute to easing inflation rates.

With these successive price cuts, Dangote Petroleum Refinery continues to demonstrate its commitment to driving positive change and providing relief to consumers amidst economic challenges.
