Beach Soccer Resumes With Excitement In Nigeria

The highly anticipated 2024 Nigeria Beach Soccer League kicked off with a bang, featuring three exciting matches at Filin Sukuwa, located at the Sani Abacha Bye Pass in Birnin Kebbi, the capital of Kebbi State.

 

Defending champions Kebbi Beach Soccer Club (BSC) started their campaign with a dominant 6-0 victory over Nmanko Patigi BSC, showcasing their championship pedigree from the start.

The top-ranked team in Africa, Kebbi Fishers, displayed their prowess with a commanding performance, led by Hassan Abdullahi’s brace and goals from Taiwo Adams, Emmanuel Ohwoferia, Nuhu Noma, and captain Ekene Obi.





 

In another match, Anambra Warriors BSC welcomed debutant Jigawa Golden Stars BSC to the league with a convincing 5-1 win. Ekwo Stanley’s double and goals from Gabriel Chinweze, Amoke Kennedy, and Nigerian Beach soccer legend Ogbonna Emeka sealed the victory for the Nnewi-based team, while Senior Abba scored Jigawa Golden Stars BSC’s inaugural league goal.

 

The 2022 league champions, Kada BSC, demonstrated their championship pedigree with a resounding 5-1 triumph over Kebbi United BSC.

Dozie Frank continued his goal-scoring prowess with a brace, supported by goals from Tanko Emmanuel, Mamman James, and former Kebbi BSC captain Kareem Hameed. Sadiq Umar pulled one back for Kebbi United BSC.

 

The league action resumes with four matches on Thursday, featuring two games in the morning and two in the evening.

 

The first game played in the early hours of today between Anambra Warriors and Kebbi United produced a resounding Victory for Anambra Warriors.

While the second kick-off game between Nmanko Patigi and Kada ended 2-2 in full time before the latter won 3-1 on penalties.
