Barcelona-Osasuna Match Postponed Following Tragic Loss Of Medical Staff Member.

In a sombre turn of events, the highly anticipated La Liga clash between Barcelona and Osasuna has been postponed, both clubs confirmed earlier today. The decision comes after the heartbreaking news of the passing of a key member of Barcelona’s medical team, prompting players to request the delay of the fixture.

According to reports from Spanish radio station SER, the players were deeply affected by the loss of Carles Miñarro Garcia, the doctor for Barcelona’s first team. The club officially confirmed his passing in a statement released this afternoon, expressing their profound sadness at the news.

“FC Barcelona is devastated to announce the passing of Carles Miñarro Garcia, the doctor of our first team,” the club said. “His dedication and care for our players will never be forgotten. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”

The postponement of the match, originally scheduled to take place this weekend, has been met with widespread support from the footballing community. Osasuna also issued a statement, extending their condolences and agreeing to the decision without hesitation.

“Club Atlético Osasuna stands in solidarity with FC Barcelona during this moment of grief,” the statement read. “We join them in mourning the loss of Carles Miñarro Garcia and send our deepest sympathies to his family and the entire Barcelona community.”

Fans and players alike have taken to social media to pay their respects, with the hashtag #RIPCarles gaining traction across platforms. Barcelona captain Sergi Roberto posted a heartfelt message, saying, “You were more than a doctor to us. Rest in peace, Carles. We’ll miss you dearly.”

Details regarding the rescheduling of the fixture have yet to be announced, as both clubs and La Liga officials work to find a suitable date. For now, the focus remains on honouring the memory of a man who played a vital behind-the-scenes role in the success of one of Spain’s biggest football clubs.

Rest in peace, Carles Miñarro Garcia. The thoughts of the football world are with his family and friends.
