The G20 summit that President Tinubu went to on Monday will not have the full attendance of all world leaders. Xi Jinping, China’s President, will not be attending the summit. China’s decision not to attend came as a result of bilateral relations remaining icy between the two countries. The Court of Appeal has announced to Nigerians that the final results of the long anticipated 2023 Presidential election, before its Presidential Election Petition Court will be delivered on Wednesday, September 6, 2023.  In a press statement posted on X , the Appellation Court said that final judgement will be given on all submitted cases and that it will be televised live. The Department of State Services (DSS), said it was aware of a plot to stage violent protests to discredit the President Bola Tinubu-led administration. In a statement via X,  the secret police said student leaders, youths, ethnic-based associations, and disgruntled groups are being mobilised for the protests. General Brice Oligui Nguema, the head of the elite Republican Guard, led officers in a military coup on Wednesday against President Ali Bongo Ondimba, scion of a family that had ruled for more than five decades. Thousands rallied Saturday, in Niamey to demand that France withdraw its troops from Niger, as sought by the junta that seized power late in June.
