The House of Representatives has rejected a motion seeking to compel examination bodies such as JAMB, WAEC and NECO to register students free of charge for the 2023-2024 examination. This followed the adoption of a motion by Rep. Anamero Dekeri (APC-Edo) during plenary in Abuja on Wednesday. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of nine new Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for a term of five years each, subject to the confirmation of the Senate. The Sokoto State Election Petition Tribunal has ruled in favor of Aminu Tambuwal, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), upholding his victory as the duly elected Senator for Sokoto South Senatorial District. Danbaba’s petition alleged that the election did not comply substantially with the provisions of the Electoral Act and requested the Tribunal to declare the election inconclusive. President Tinubu had on the 2nd  of September, 2023 recalled all Nigeria’s ambassadors, both career and non-career. They were asked to return to the country on or before October 31, 2023. Recall that on September 2, President Bola Tinubu recalled all Nigeria’s ambassadors, and asked them to return to the country on or before October 31.
