The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Osun State has announced that it will conduct mock accreditation of eligible voters in the three senatorial districts of the State. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has extended the deadline for the use of the old notes till February 10. CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, announced the extension in a statement signed on Sunday. The tribunal on Friday, upturned Adeleke’s win at the July 16th 2022 governorship polls. The Election Petition Tribunal hearing the APC and Adegboyega Oyetola’s petition against the victory of the PDP’s Ademola Adeleke on Friday annulled the result of the July 16 Osun governorship poll. Justice Tetsea Kume, while delivering a majority decision declared that INEC did not comply substantially with the Constitution and the provisions of the Electoral Act. He subsequently deducted the over-voting observed from the votes scored by the candidates and declared that Oyetola won the election, having polled 314, 921, while Adeleke’s score came down to 290, 266.
