Former Anambra State governor, Mr. Peter Obi is heading for a landslide victory in the results of the presidential elections held on Saturday in his state. From the results so far declared, Labour Party has cleared all 12 local government areas announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC. The local government areas already announced include Dunukofia, Ayamelum, Anambra West, Nnewi South, Aguata, Njikoka, Ekwusigo and Anaocha. The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar has won the national election in Akwa Ibom State. The former Vice President secured 214,012 votes to defeat Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who polled 160,620 votes. Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, won 132,683 votes. The State Collation Officer, Prof Emmanuel Adigio made the announcement on Monday afternoon. Adigio is Vice Chancellor of Nigeria Maritime University, Okerenkoko, Delta State. Atiku’s victory is a big win for Akwa Ibom Governor Udom Emmanuel, Chairman of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council, PCC.

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar received a total of 427,611 votes in Adamawa State to beat other candidates there. The presidential candidate of the Progressives Congress (APC) , Bola Tinubu, has urged Lagos residents to avoid any act of violence as the results of the presidential election trickle in. Peter Obi, candidate of the Labour Party (LP), was declared the winner in Lagos State. Obi polled 582,664, while Tinubu scored 541,850. Prof. Simeon Adebayo Oladipo, the Senatorial Returning Officer, announced Abiru as the winner on Monday in Lagos. The Returning Officer for the East Senatorial District, who declared the results at about 12.48 pm at INEC Collation Centre, in Somolu, said Abiru secured 178,646 votes. Former federal lawmaker, Dino Melaye, has challenged the result of the Ekiti State presidential election and wants it cancelled immediately. Presenting his observation at the commencement of the collation of results at the International Conference Centre, Abuja on Monday, Melaye, who is the agent of the Peoples Democratic Party, raised observations on alleged over-voting. Sen. Ahmed Lawan of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has won the Yobe North Senatorial District election in Yobe.
