The Lagos government has confirmed that Whitney Adeniran, the late student of Chrisland Schools in Opebi, Ikeja, died from electrocution. The school had said 12-year-old Whitney slumped and passed away during the school’s inter house sports competition at Agege Stadium. But the parents punctured the claim, stressing that their daughter was in a good health condition when the school bus picked her that morning. The Supreme Court on Friday ordered that the old naira notes must remain in circulation till December 31 this year. The apex court ordered the Central Bank of Nigeria CBN to allow both the old naira notes and the new ones to circulate side by side till the end of the year. The World Health Organisation says an estimated 1.5 billion people globally live with hearing loss.
