The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has announced the extension of the application deadline for the recruitment exercise on its website by one week. The agency’s spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, announced the deadline extension in a statement on Thursday in Abuja. The NLDEA spokesman stated that the application, which was earlier set to run from March 12 to April 8, will remain open until April 17. The Lagos Police Command has uncovered a den of kidnappers in the Ikorodu area of Lagos, Thursday night. The kidnappers opened fire on operatives of the Command who stormed the den.During the cross- fire, one of the kidnappers was gunned down. Three victims were rescued in the process.Spokesman for the Command, SP Benjamin Hudenyin said arms and ammunition were recovered at the scene.He added that the victims were receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital .
A former deputy governor of Nasarawa State, Prof Onje Gye-wado has been kidnapped by daredevil gunmen. Onje Gye-wado, a one-time deputy Governor of the State who served during Abdullahi Adamu administration, was abducted in the early hours of Friday when the assailants invaded Gwagi village in Wamba Local Government Area of the state. Air travellers across the country will have to seek alternative means of transportation, following the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, denying petroleum marketers access to various airports over incremental tariffs. The access restriction started today (Thursday) at the Abuja airport and plans are underway to extend it to other airports managed by FAAN. Nigeria has 32 airports, 26 of which are operated by the FAAN, and five of which are functional international airports. It also has a state-owned airport located in Akwa Ibom State.
