Tobi Amusan Withdraws from 23rd Senior Athletics Championship Due to Ill Health.
Tobi Amusan, the World 100m hurdles champion, has pulled out of the ongoing 23rd Senior Athletics Championship in Cameroon due to ill health. Reports indicate that an infection, diagnosed as a sore throat, has hindered Amusan’s attempt to become the third Nigerian high hurdler to win the 100m hurdles three times at the African Athletics Championships.
Amusan, who recently won the Women’s 100m Hurdles Final at the National Trials in Benin City, Edo State, had been in fine form. She thrilled fans with her exceptional hurdling prowess, successfully defending her national title and gearing up for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Despite this setback, Amusan remains hopeful and looks forward to continuing her strong performance in future competitions.
