Favour Ofili expressed her unyielding determination after clinching her maiden women’s 100m title with a remarkable time of 11.06 seconds on Day 1 of the Nigerian Olympic Trials at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin. This victory secures her automatic qualification for the Paris Olympics.
Following her triumph, Ofili urged Nigerians to continue supporting her with their prayers as she prepares to represent the nation on the world stage. She vowed to give her all at the Paris Olympics to make Nigeria proud.
“I feel great and I am still hungry for more,” said Ofili. “The secret is being patient. I didn’t leave the 400m; my coach observed and did what a coach ought to do. That’s why I am still here.
“I will go to Paris and do what I am supposed to do. More importantly, I need to stay healthy. You all should pray for me to be healthy because if I am healthy, you know what I can do.”
