The Armed Forces of Nigeria send a strong warning to terrorists and bandits as they activate their war mode to put an end to insurgency in the country. Major General Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations, provided updates on the military’s recent activities during a press conference in Abuja on Thursday.
During the press conference in Abuja, Major General Edward Buba announced the successful neutralisation of two terrorists and the apprehension of several others. He emphasized that the military’s current offensive posture, demonstrated through ongoing operations, would compel those responsible for the challenges to rethink their stance. The Armed Forces’ resolute actions aim to deter further acts of terrorism and banditry in the country.
The newly deployed Defence spokesman also addressed the recent incident involving the destruction of a vessel arrested with stolen crude onboard. He stressed that the punitive action taken was fully compliant with existing military laws.
They maintain their commitment to enforcing the law and curbing illegal activities that undermine national security and prosperity.
On the sidelines, the Director, Defence Information, Major Gen. Tukur Gusau, clarified the recent retirement of some senior military officers in line with military hierarchy.
The Defence spokesman highlighted that the Armed Forces are presently actively involved in nine distinct operations throughout the country.
These operations span across the six geopolitical zones and are specifically designed to address the various security challenges faced by the nation.
At the end, he said that the armed forces remain dedicated to safeguarding the country and ensuring the safety and well-being of its citizens in these operational theatres.
