Tojemarine Academy solidified their position at the top of the Men’s category in the Ardova Handball Premier League 2024 with a decisive 31-23 victory over defending champions Niger United on day 7 of phase 1, held in Benin City, Edo State.
Under the strategic guidance of Coach Shittu Adewunmi Agboola, the Lagos-based club showcased superior tactics and teamwork to outplay Niger United, thereby extending their lead in the league standings.
In other matches in the men’s category, Benue Buffaloes narrowly defeated Sunshine Kings 25-22, while Rima Strikers achieved the day’s most impressive win, thrashing Adamawa Warriors 42-21. Safety Shooters returned to form with a 31-28 victory over Correction Boys, and former champions Kano Pillars maintained their resurgence by overcoming De Defenders 27-24.
The women’s category saw defending champions Safety Babes secure a 29-23 win against former champions Plateau Peacocks. Defender Babes dominated the host team Bendel Dynamos with a 39-20 victory. Rima Queens convincingly beat Delta Queens 40-19, and Rivers Queens played out a thrilling 25-25 draw with COAS Babes.
