Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has revealed the party’s intentions to seize control of Rivers State in the 2027 elections.
Ganduje disclosed that the APC National Working Committee (NWC) is strategically repositioning the party’s Rivers State chapter to secure victory in the upcoming gubernatorial election.
The announcement came during the inauguration of the Rivers State Caretaker Committee at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja on Friday. Ganduje emphasized the party’s commitment to reform and underscored the crucial role of state leadership in achieving this objective.
Addressing the newly inaugurated committee, Ganduje stated, “We want you to make history for our party so that during the next election, we will have Rivers State for APC. You contributed in electing the government of today (President). I can beat my chest; we are proud of you.”
As of now, Rivers State is under the governance of Governor Sim Fubara from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The APC aims to strategically position itself for success in the 2027 elections in the state.
