In response to growing concerns about the political situation in Ondo State, the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has taken action.
He has named the former Governor of Katsina State, Aminu Bello Masari, to lead a 9-member committee tasked with resolving the ongoing impasse between the state’s governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, and his estranged deputy, Lucky Ayedatiwa.
In a statement issued by his press secretary, Edwin Olofu, in the early hours of Thursday, Ganduje expressed worries that if the situation is not addressed promptly, it “may lead to further disaffection among party faithful.”
To prevent further discord and foster better understanding among the involved parties, the National Secretariat has decided to intervene. The 9-man committee, under the leadership of Aminu Bello Masari, will work towards an amicable resolution of the situation.
The committee’s mandate includes interacting and engaging in dialogue with all stakeholders in Ondo State while upholding mutual respect, with the ultimate goal of finding a lasting solution to the political dispute.
The National Secretariat has called on all parties involved to remain calm and extend full cooperation and support to the Masari-led Committee in its efforts to bring about a peaceful resolution.
