Anambra Student Achieves Record-Breaking JAMB Score Of 375.

A remarkable feat has been celebrated at the 2025 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Policy Meeting in Abuja, where Okeke Chinedu Christian, a student from Anambra State, was announced as the highest scorer in this year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The JAMB Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, revealed that Okeke secured an outstanding 375 out of a possible 400 marks, setting a new benchmark for academic excellence in Nigeria.

Addressing education stakeholders, including university vice-chancellors and polytechnic rectors, Professor Oloyede praised Okeke’s exceptional performance, noting that it reflects the potential of Nigerian youth when provided with the right opportunities. “Okeke Chinedu Christian has demonstrated extraordinary dedication and intellectual prowess, achieving a score of 375, the highest in the 2025 UTME,” Oloyede stated during the meeting, as reported by The Guardian Nigeria.

The 2025 UTME, conducted between 24 April and 5 May, saw over 1.9 million candidates compete for admission into Nigeria’s tertiary institutions. Despite challenges, including technical glitches affecting 379,997 candidates in 157 centres, Okeke’s score stood out as a beacon of success. JAMB’s commitment to addressing these issues, including organising resit examinations, ensured fairness in the process, allowing talents like Okeke’s to shine.

Okeke’s achievement has sparked widespread celebration on social media, with many Nigerians lauding his hard work and calling for support to nurture such talent. Education analysts have highlighted his score as evidence of the resilience of students in Anambra State, which, despite leading in examination malpractice suspects this year, continues to produce academic stars.

In a related development, Professor Oloyede reaffirmed JAMB’s zero-tolerance policy towards malpractice, noting that 39,834 results were withheld due to suspected infractions, with 80 candidates under investigation. However, Okeke’s stellar performance serves as a reminder of the rewards of integrity and diligence.

As Nigeria looks to the future of its education system, Okeke Chinedu Christian’s record-breaking score offers hope and inspiration. Stakeholders at the policy meeting urged institutions to provide scholarships and mentorship to such high achievers, ensuring their potential is fully realised.

Okeke’s family and school have yet to comment publicly, but sources close to the student describe him as a focused and determined individual with aspirations to study medicine. His journey from Anambra to national acclaim underscores the power of education to transform lives.

For now, Okeke stands tall as a symbol of excellence, and his story is set to motivate countless others preparing for future examinations. Congratulations to Nigeria’s brightest star of 2025!
