Alisha Lehmann Speaks Out On Relationship With Douglas Luiz.
Swiss football star Alisha Lehmann has addressed the widespread attention surrounding her personal life, explaining why she rekindled her romance with Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz after previously dating her Switzerland teammate, Ramona Bachmann.
Lehmann, one of the most followed female footballers in the world, has often found herself in the spotlight for both her talent on the pitch and her high-profile relationships. The 26-year-old Juventus Women’s star has now shared her perspective on love and acceptance, emphasising the importance of personal choice and individuality.
Breaking Stereotypes in Women’s Football
Lehmann, who has been open about her sexuality in the past, previously highlighted how women’s football embraces diversity. In a past interview, she noted:
“I would say it’s normal for us in women’s football. Anything is accepted here. In the world, everyone just says it’s accepted, but in the background, they say, ‘that’s not possible’. Why that’s so, I do not know. My generation grew up accepting everyone.”
She also pointed out that societal attitudes are gradually shifting, though some resistance remains, particularly among older generations.
Love Without Labels
Speaking to Marca, Lehmann dismissed the idea that love should be confined by labels or societal expectations. She expressed her belief that people should be free to choose their partners without fear of judgment.
“It’s 2025. I think everyone can date whoever they want and be with whoever they want,” she said. “It’s important to open your mind and stop seeing this as a problem and instead see it as progress. Be who you are and who you want to be. Love is love. It’s simple.”
Lehmann and Luiz reconciled in January 2024, reigniting a relationship that had previously ended. Despite the public scrutiny, the Swiss international remains firm in her stance that love should be celebrated in all its forms.
As Lehmann continues to make headlines for both her footballing achievements and personal choices, her message of acceptance and freedom serves as a reminder that progress lies in embracing diversity and individuality.
