The Flying Eagles Head Coach says his team’s shortcomings in the 13th African Games is due to poor preparation
Flying Eagles head coach Ladan Bosso attributed his team’s early exit from the 2023 African Games to insufficient preparation. The team bowed out after a 3-2 defeat to Senegal, finishing third in Group B with three points from three games.
Expressing disappointment, Bosso mentioned that the game against Senegal was their best performance in the tournament. He highlighted the challenge of limited scouting time, having watched only a few games in Uyo and other locations, where he spotted Enyimba players Daga and Chibueze.
Bosso stressed the importance of better preparation for future competitions, noting that a 13-day preparation period is inadequate. He acknowledged the positives, mentioning that some players from the squad could be developed for future national team roles.
Despite the early exit, Bosso saw improvement in the team’s performance from match to match, culminating in a strong showing against Senegal, albeit ending in a defeat.
