AFCON: Stanley Nwabali The Nigerian International Shot Stopper Is Attracting Interest From Europe Following His Exploit At The On Going AFCON Tournament
Spanish La Liga club, Cádiz, are believed to be interested in signing the Nigerian Shot Stopper and are sniffing around on how to go about it.
The club sent a message to wish the Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali a quick recovery ahead of Nigeria’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, quarter final tie against Angola on Friday.
Cádiz also hailed Nwabali for his performances at the AFCON, labeling the Chippa United star as ‘GOAT’.
Recall that Super Eagles manager Jose Peseiro decided to name Nwabali as his first choice ahead of Francis Uzoho at the commencement of the tournament.
Stanley Nwabali sustained an injury during Nigeria’s AFCON round-16 win against Cameroon.
The 27-year-old was replaced by Uzoho after he was taken off in the 80th minute for a suspected knee injury after colliding with Cameroonian attacker Georges-Kévin N’Koudou.
“All the luck in the world for GOAT Nwabali to be recovered for Nigeria’s next round in AFCON,” the official account of Cádiz Club de Fútbol in Nigeria tweeted over the weekend.
The Super Eagles’ goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has now spoken ahead of Angola AFCON quarterfinals clash
“I don’t know, but maybe the doctor would tell, but I’m still feeling pains. You know when injury is new, you always feel pains”
He however gave a positive update on his Instagram account with a post caption below.
