AFCON 2023: Ex-minister, Ogah charged Super Eagles to remain resilient as they face host nation Cote d’Ivoire in the AFCON tournament final clash on Sunday.
Still on the AFCON tournament where the Super Eagles of Nigeria has been very impressive and now into the final, the ex-Minister of State, Mines and Steel Development, Dr Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, has urged the team to keep going.
He commended the Super Eagles of Nigeria for their courageous efforts so far at the on going AFCON tournament.
The former minister applauded the players of the Super Eagles of Nigeria on their resounding victory against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in a thrilling semi-final encounter in Ivory Coast.
recall that the Super Eagles of Nigeria last night defeated the Bafana Bafana of South Africa 4:2 via penalty shootout to book their place in the final against host nation Ivory Coast on Sunday.
Ogah, while celebrating the Super Eagles, charged them to replicate the same energy against the host country, Ivory Coast.
He noted that the victory of the Super Eagles players against Bafana Bafana of South Africa was a morale-booster and also charged the team to sustain the momentum and return home with the prestigious trophy.
According to him, “The victory of the Super Eagle of Nigeria over Bafana Bafana of South Africa, is one that redeems not only Nigeria’s football strength but also our image within the continent of Africa and beyond.
The former minister also noted that football remains a unifying factor that binds everyone, regardless of ethnicity and religion.
He admonished the Nigerian team players to maintain the tempo and expressed optimism that Nigeria will emerge victorious in the final African Cup of Nations game against Ivory Coast.
The Final Showdown comes up on Sunday 11th of February 2024 by 9pm Nigerian time at the (60, 000+) Stade Olympique Alassane Ouattara stadium Abidjan.
