Ademola Lookman Submits Transfer Request Amid Atalanta Dispute Over £50m Inter Move.
Ademola Lookman, the Atalanta forward, has formally submitted a transfer request following a dispute with the club. The 27-year-old Nigerian international, who joined Atalanta from RB Leipzig in 2022, expressed his frustration in a public statement, citing “broken promises” and “poor treatment” from the club’s management.
Lookman highlighted his three-year tenure, during which he scored 52 goals and provided 25 assists in 118 matches, including a historic hat-trick in the 2024 Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen. He noted an agreement with the club’s ownership that he could leave if a fair offer arrived, but claims Atalanta is now blocking a recent offer for reasons he does not understand.
Recent reports indicate Inter Milan are the primary suitors, with an offer of €45 million plus bonuses, though Atalanta are holding out for around €50 million. Lookman has agreed personal terms with Inter for a five-year contract worth €4.5 million per year.
Despite interest from other clubs like Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain in the past, and a rejected bid from Napoli, Lookman’s preference is Inter. The situation remains unresolved, with Atalanta yet to respond officially, and the player expressing hope for an amicable solution.
