Acting Chief Of Army Staff Mourns Lt. Gen. Lagbaja, Praises His Selfless Leadership.

The Acting Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olatubosun Oluyede, has led tributes to the late Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, describing him as a courageous leader and a dedicated patriot who gave his all in service to Nigeria. The Nigerian Army and the nation as a whole are in mourning following the passing of Lt. Gen. Lagbaja, a respected figure remembered for his professionalism and commitment to his country.

 

In a statement, Lt. Gen. Oluyede highlighted Lagbaja’s outstanding dedication, stating that his exemplary leadership and sacrifice would leave a lasting legacy in the military. “It’s a significant loss for us. He was a selfless leader, deeply passionate about Nigeria, and led the Nigerian Army with courage and integrity,” Oluyede said. He also acknowledged the difficult circumstances surrounding Lagbaja’s death, expressing gratitude to President Bola Tinubu and the First Lady for their support during Lagbaja’s final days.





 

Reflecting on the late general’s impact, Oluyede added, “He was thorough and professional to the core, a leader who commanded great respect and admiration. His passing has left the Army in a sombre mood, but his legacy of courage and dedication to Nigeria will always be remembered.”

 

Lt. Gen. Oluyede also encouraged Nigerians to celebrate Lagbaja’s legacy, recognising his contributions to national security and his unwavering commitment to the nation. He conveyed appreciation to all those who extended their condolences and showed support during the general’s illness.

 

As the Nigerian Army and the nation mourn the loss of Lt. Gen. Lagbaja, thoughts and prayers remain with his family. His dedication, leadership, and service will be honoured and remembered by all those he inspired.
