Gabriel Magalhaes Signs New Four-Year Deal With Arsenal.
Arsenal centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes has penned a fresh four-year contract, committing his future to the Gunners until 2029, according to Sky Sports News. The 27-year-old, whose previous agreement was set to run until 2027, has solidified his status as a cornerstone of Mikel Arteta’s squad since joining from Lille for £27m in 2020.
A key figure in Arsenal’s defence, Gabriel has made 210 appearances across all competitions, netting 20 goals and forging a formidable partnership with William Saliba. His prowess from set-pieces has also proven a vital weapon for the north London club.
Expressing his delight, Gabriel said: “I arrived here as a young player and after almost five years I’m so happy and I’ve learned a lot. I’m so proud of myself, it’s an amazing journey, and I’m so happy to continue it. I hope I win some trophies with this club, because I love this club and my family loves the club, too.
“Arsenal is an amazing club and I’m so proud to sign a new contract. I love this club, I love the supporters, my teammates, I love this stadium. I’m so proud and thank you for all the support. We’ve done a lot of good things, and now it’s time to win some trophies. We continue together for the future.”
Gabriel, one of Arsenal’s longest-serving players, missed the final two months of last season due to hamstring surgery in April but is expected to return fully fit for the start of the 2025-26 campaign.
The Gunners are reportedly eager to secure new deals for other key stars this summer, including defensive partner William Saliba and winger Bukayo Saka. Meanwhile, the club confirmed earlier this week that midfielder Jorginho and defender Kieran Tierney will depart when their contracts expire at the end of June. Talks to extend midfielder Thomas Partey’s deal, also nearing its end, are ongoing.
Arsenal fans will be buoyed by Gabriel’s commitment, as the club looks to build on recent progress and chase silverware in the coming seasons.
