Nigerian footballer Abubakar Lawal has tragically passed away following a motorcycle accident in Kampala, Uganda.
The 29-year-old forward, who played for Ugandan champions Vipers SC, was involved in a collision while riding a motorcycle, commonly known as boda boda, towards Entebbe on Monday. Reports indicate that the motorcycle clashed with a car, leading to the fatal accident.

Lawal joined Vipers in 2022 after two seasons with Rwandan side AS Kigali. During his time with the club, he played a crucial role in their 2022/23 league title triumph and helped them qualify for the CAF Champions League group stage under coach Roberto Oliveira, now with Rayon Sports.
The Nigerian forward had made eight league appearances for Vipers this season before the unfortunate incident.
His sudden passing has left the football community in shock, with tributes pouring in for the talented player who contributed significantly to Ugandan football.
