Moise Kean Collapses On Pitch After Head Injury In Fiorentina Defeat.
Fiorentina striker Moise Kean was rushed to hospital after collapsing on the pitch during Sunday’s 1-0 defeat against Hellas Verona.
The 24-year-old Italian forward initially suffered a head injury in the 58th minute when his face collided with Pawel Dawidowicz’s knee while battling for possession. Despite receiving treatment, Kean continued playing but lost his balance and collapsed six minutes later, prompting immediate concern from players and medical staff.
The match was briefly halted as medics attended to the former Everton, Paris Saint-Germain, and Juventus striker. He was stretchered off wearing a neck brace before being taken to hospital for further tests.
In a statement, Fiorentina confirmed: “Moise Kean, during the match against Verona, suffered a head trauma. [He] is in hospital for tests.”
Following the incident, play resumed, and Verona secured victory with a stoppage-time goal from Antoine Bernede.
Kean, who has been in fine form this season with 15 Serie A goals, now faces a period of medical evaluation. His injury comes months after a similar incident in December when Fiorentina midfielder Edoardo Bove collapsed during a match against Inter Milan. Bove later underwent successful surgery and had a removable defibrillator fitted.
The footballing world now awaits further updates on Kean’s condition, with Fiorentina hoping for a swift recovery for their key striker.
