Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez, whose real name is Emeka Akumefule, has shared a personal aspect of his life, revealing that his father abandoned him at birth.
In a candid conversation with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Blaqbonez disclosed that his father’s absence had a profound impact on his upbringing.
“My dad kind of dipped when I was born, so he wasn’t there. I wasn’t raised by my dad,” Blaqbonez shared, offering a glimpse into his challenging childhood.
Despite the difficulties he faced, Blaqbonez has risen to become one of the most successful rappers in Africa. During the interview, he confidently declared himself “the best rapper in Africa,” citing his impressive discography as evidence.
Blaqbonez’s assertion comes on the heels of a similar endorsement from award-winning Ghanaian-American singer Amaarae, who last year proclaimed him the best rapper in Nigeria.
With his talent, resilience, and determination, Blaqbonez continues to make waves in the music industry, inspiring fans and cementing his position as a leading figure in African hip-hop.
